Modern Paraphrase of Matthew 25

For I was hungry, while you had all you needed. I was thirsty, but you drank BOTTLED water. I was a stranger, and you wanted me DEPORTED. I needed clothes, but you needed MORE clothes. I was sick, and you pointed out the BEHAVIORS that led to my sickness. I was in prison, and you said I was getting what I DESERVED.

- Richard Sterns, The Hole in Our Gospel

I needed to hear this...I need to hear it everyday. I am SO Blessed...SO Selfish and SO caught up in the Things of this World....May I see Jesus in EVERY set of eyes...in EVERY circumstance

Part of this reminds me of something I heard on the radio tonight - - - - about us all being prisoners who are in the prison of WANT - - that would be "want more". "Want more" of what? House, car, clothes, etc. etc.
Getting more of what we want only frees us from the prison temporarily. We need to want more of Jesus to be free from WANT PRISON forever.

It's people like you, Kelly, that make me want to stand up and scream when people keep saying that this world is going to pot. It isn't. There are Kelly's out there who care and who are not sitting idly by. It's the puffed up Christians taking up space on a pew without a care for the absolute poor trying to make it only 2 blocks away that need to be shaken out of blinding complacency.

And now, I shall step off my soap box.

Keeping our sights on HIM daily, would make this world a better place. For we get caught in the trap... I'm praying for blinders daily...love you my friend!!!
